THE RESOURCE DIRECTORY

Good places
to start.

A small, checked collection of official guidance and human organizing support. Read the coverage notes to understand where each resource fits.

Six resources. Clear limits.

California is our first state-specific public-sector entry. We don’t yet have a verified route for every state or work arrangement. General organizing contacts can help you ask where to go next.

Start with the coverage question

National Labor Relations Board

An official explanation of who is excluded from coverage under the National Labor Relations Act.

Coverage & limitations

A starting point for many private-sector workers. Public employees, agricultural and domestic workers, independent contractors, certain family employees, supervisors, and workers covered by the Railway Labor Act have different rules. This does not determine your status.

Rail & airline representation

National Mediation Board

An introduction to the NMB’s representation role under the Railway Labor Act.

Coverage & limitations

The official US government directory entry for the FLRA, with agency contact information.

Coverage & limitations

Ask the AFL-CIO where to start

AFL-CIO

The federation’s general contact page. You can ask where to find organizing support for your situation.

Coverage & limitations

A general inquiry channel, not a dedicated organizing intake, confirmed union match, representation offer or response guarantee. Ask whether they can point you to support for your sector and state. The external form asks for a name and email.

General contact form reviewed. The dedicated organizer page loaded but did not display an intake form during browser review, so this entry uses the general contact page. No form submitted.
